On Thursday the 15th of February ACS held the largest “Lets talk Business” event to date. The focus of this event was being black in the workforce, an event where experienced industry leader aimed to give an insight into what being in the work force is like.
The panellists on the day were
Dr Bisola Ezobi -General Practitioner
Jacqui Rhule-Dagher – Fourth Seat Trainee solicitor at Clifford Chance
Andrew Osayemi -Former FX Trader at RBS, Exective Producer for Meet the Adebanjos and CEO of MTA productions
Dr Foluke Adebisi- LLM(Lanc), Phd(Lanc), Senior Teaching Associate in Law
Nomalanga Nyamayaro – Quarter Finalist of BBC MasterChef, Inspirational speaker and Lifestyle Coach
The panel discussion was started by Andrew giving us an account of his journey through university where he was encouraged by a friend to become “limitless” in order to reach heights that he thought were previously unattainable. This entailed Andrews journey from one the most prestigious banks to the totally unrelated career of being a producer.
We then heard about panellist’s experience in their various fields of work. Throughout the evening there was a common message encouraging all of us to look inside ourselves to become the best we can be. If there’s one lesson to take from this event it’s the fact that success is a mindset.
